The Blue Bengal

Jadasia Tikal Sun City

Hi! I am Tikal, a blue spotted
Bengal, the less frequent color in the Bengals. My name comes from a Mayan
city located in the Guatemala jungle. I am accepted in the expositions
since only few years in the “new breed and color” category.
Fortunately, soon I will have
a girlfriend with the same color and pattern as me. A small blue female
was born on February 22nd 2000 and my owners promised to keep her for me.

Even if the blue Bengal is
still not accepted for Championship status with T.I.C.A. and C.C.A., it’s
a very unique and beautiful cat. It has the same “Bengal” personality,
friendly, curious, playful and has the same affinity towards water.

"I love to play with

The blue Bengal should still fit the standard as far as
the build of the cat goes and the temperament. The tail tip will be blue-grey.
They are beautiful cats and
are sold into non-show, non-breeder homes as pets.

"Come here, little mouse,
I will catch you"

The blue coloring is a recessive gene that must be
carried by both parents in order to surface in a litter.

A moment of relaxation
|
|
Blue is not a color that breeders
desire to further the breed but on occasion a striking blue Bengal appears
in a litter to a fortunate happy pet purchaser.
